What stays the same is the ground: we test the sub-soil before we quote, dig deep enough, and use materials we can name on the quote — Marshalls, Tobermore, FSC-certified timber.
Ascot soil & drainage
Most of Ascot sits on free-draining Bagshot Sand over London Clay, and the depth of each varies street to street. Dig short on that combination and the driveway heaves one winter and settles the next. We take out a minimum 250mm, lay MOT Type 1 on a geotextile membrane, and set falls and drainage to SuDS standards.
Planning & conservation
Parts of Ascot, Sunninghill and Cheapside fall inside the Metropolitan Green Belt, and several streets near Ascot High Street carry Article 4 directions that strip out permitted development rights. We check both against your address before quoting, and handle dropped kerb applications and permeable-surface compliance with RBWM as part of the job.
Access & logistics
Racecourse traffic, the narrow lanes off Heath Ride and gated private drives all decide how a job is delivered. We book fixed delivery windows, board out verges and gravel drives before machinery crosses them, and keep the site footprint tight. Your neighbours should be able to park outside their own houses for the fortnight we are there.
